The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) launched the three key research initiatives in March 2024 to strengthen and promote research in the field of DRR. The initiatives aim to offer solutions for mitigating and minimizing disaster risks faced by states/UTs through innovations and action research.
Call for Proposals are invited for:
1. NIDM Doctoral Fellowship Programme on Disaster Studies (F.Y. 2025-26): Scholars enrolled in a full-time Ph.D. programme in a UGC-recognized institution/university in any discipline working on Disaster Studies and selected as NIDM fellows would be eligible for Junior and Senior Research Fellowship (JRF/SRF) as per UGC norms for a maximum period of five years.
2. Research Project/Study on Disaster Management: Innovation & Action Research (F.Y. 2025-26): The faculty members and scientists (regular or with 8 years of experience) selected as Principal Investigators would be eligible for a project grant up to Rs. 8 lakhs for a period not exceeding two years.
3. Best Thesis Ranking in Disaster Studies (F.Y. 2025-26): National platform for recognition of Ph.D. research and contribution for the field of Disaster Risk Reduction. The theme for call for nominations for F.Y. 2025-26 is Landslide- Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery.
